Thanks to the Centro Britânico do Alto Minho, we were able to spend 110 euros and buy dozens of pairs of socks and pants and pay to send them to Odesa and Dnipro!
Ten days ago, we shared the news about the wonderful conference for teachers which took place in mid-March at the Centro Britânico do Alto Minho, Portugal and the 150 euros which had been raised there.
Today, we want to tell you how this money has been used. Last Friday, we bought dozens of pairs of kids’ and men’s socks and pants (the things that we were told were desperately needed right now in both Odesa and Dnipro). Then, we packed them up into boxes and took them to Tienda Katiusha, where the wonderful Halyna Klevan arranged for them to be transported to Ukraine.
As you’ll know if you’ve been following our stories and projects, we are actively providing help to thousands of displaced families in Odesa, collaborating with Pivden razom (South Together) and also with Shveina Rota (Clothes for the Wounded). Both of these amazing organisations are doing an amazing job and helping people in extremely challenging situations to survive and hopefully recover.
Both parcels should be arriving in Odesa and Dnipro in the next couple of days, so we hope to have more photos to add to this post soon!
You can follow Pivden razom via their Facebook page and if you’d like to read more about Shveina Rota and their work, you can read this article here.
