Ayuda increíble recibida en Golf Santa Marina

El día 17 de Diciembre, el grupo Amen Corner, (un grupo de amigos que juegan a golf en el Club de Golf Santa Marina)organizó un torneo Pro-Am, gracias a la ayuda del Club Santa Marina.

On December 17th, the Amen Corner group, ( group of friends who play golf together at Santa Marina Golf Club) organised a Pro-Am tournament.

Además de disfrutar de un día de golf, los amigos de Amen Corner querían apoyar al labor de Bracelets and Peace. Hicieron una recogida de ropa para bebés, niños y niñas y de adultos. Y mantas y sacos de dormir. Como se ve en la foto, todo el mundo aportó muchas cosas que enviamos en las siguientes semanas a Ucrania.

As well as enjoying a day of golf, the friends of Amen Corner wanted to support Bracelets and Peace. They collected clothes for babies, children and adults. And blankets and sleeping bags too. As you can see in the photo below, we were given lots of thing to send to Ukraine.

En el torneo Pro-Am, cinco equipos de jugadores y jugadoras compitieron para ver quienes podían hacer el mejor resultado en el campo. Cada equipo tenía su jugador profesional, quienes muy amablemente acudieron de Cantabria, Asturias y País Vasco. Después de unas semanas muy lluviosas, el campo propuso su propio desafío: encontrar la bola en ocasiones. Pero todos los equipos terminaron su vuelta y disfrutaron mucho.

In the Pro-Am tournament, five teams of players competed, aiming to win the maximum number of points. Each team had a pro, players who kindly came from Cantabria, Asturias and the Basque Country. After some rainy weeks, the course proved challenging. Finding the ball was difficult at times. But all the teams finished the course and enjoyed themselves.

Después, hubo una comida típica cántabra – cocido lebaniego. Luego, la entrega de premios y ….. nuestro gran premio. Fausto y Mariano hicieron una entrega a Bracelets and Peace de 1.300 euros!

Afterwards, we enjoyed a typical Cantabrian lunch – Cocido Lebaniego. Then, the prize giving and we received our big prize. Fausto and Mariano gave Bracelets and Peace 1,300 euros!

Nos permitirá adecuar el aula en el orfanato Barvinok y comprar las mesas y sillas que necesitan para estudiar y hacer sus tareas en condiciones adecuadas. Como se ve en las fotos, actualmente, los huérfanos estudian en un pasillo, con insuficientes sillas y mesas en muy mal estado.

This will allow us to renovate the study room in Barvinok orphanage and to buy the tables and chairs that they need so that they can study in suitable conditions. As you can see in the photo below, the orphans currently study in the corridor, sitting on chairs and at tables which are very delapidated.

De nuevo, queremos dar las gracias a las entidades, a todo el personal de Golf Santa Marina y al Amen Corner, con un agradecimiento especial para sus dos capitanes: Fausto y Manuel.
